Wearer of the Orange....

For St. Patty's Day I always wear orange in honor of my delightfully Irish-through-and-through-Great Grandfather, from whom I take my middle name. While I don't accept or embrace his vigorous anti-catholic sentiments nor his Queen and Crown embracing loyalties; his stories, his lumberjack prowess, his win-everyone-in-the-room-as-soon-as-he-entered personality loom across my life like a mythic Paul-Bunyanesque shadow cast from the shores and woods and tiny tourist towns of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he lived after emigrating (twice) from the Isle of Green (and orange!)....Happy St. Patrick's Day!
