About This Blog

Redbaerd has blogged since 2003.

He started to blog because he realized that he processed things well while writing. Something about the slow linear nature of writing and alphabets.

He also recognized that he was a primarily external processer. He knows things by saying them. To people.

He lived too far from most of his family and friends, and even the friends who lived close enough -- felt too far away because of how full he packed his days. A blog was a place to nurture presence and connection.

His first blog, the backburner was a blog where he simmered his ideas to fruition in the presence of friends, family and benevolent others. He loved writing it, and then (as he is wont to do), he grew tired of it.

After a brief hiatus he returned to the blogosphere to start writing this blog.

He was perenially fascinated by betweenness and liminality. The writing here was meant to fit between things. Between his oft-too-busy schedule. Between the various groups of friends and family who read. Between regrets and hope. Between disappointments and possibilities.
