Light and the world.

After I drove the boys home the sky filled up with the light from the setting sun. All the water in the clouds threatening a storm, but instead casting an ominous beauty over everything.

When I drove into our neighborhood, two teenage boys were walking down the street.  They were not the kind of boys who live in our neighborhood, but their faces were open and they looked at me as if to say: anyone arriving in this light must be a harbinger of something great.  I felt the same way about them.  The light changed strangers into angels and coded the street as a magic zone, roiling with incipient transformation.
