The River Aire

I'm in the land of my ancestors and this sign may be one of my early inspirations for sign collecting. When my maternal grandparents moved their young family from the South Side of Chicago to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1956 -- my grandfather left behind his construction business, his printing business ( & several more) to enter the motel business.
